The Divemaster course normally takes from two weeks, depending
on how much you study in advance and how you decide to it. If you have prepared well and have good knowledge
in diving, the course can be done in two weeks. It’s always the student who set
the pace by preparing and study as much as possible before.
Our Divemaster
course has become very popular since large parts of it are done aboard one of our boats.
This provides the student with first-class training in all aspects of diving, both in and
above the water! The course normally starts with reading the book, watching the video tapes
and doing written exercises back home. Once in Thailand we start with water exercises and
practice on students taking their Padi course, e.g. the PADI Open Water. We
see natural and practical training with "real" students and divers as a valuable
part in the Divemaster education. You will get the opportunity to work closely
with instructors during different parts of student training. At first you will
watch and after a while more and more responsibility will be given to you. Of
course, the instructor will be watching closely the whole time.
A large part of your Divemaster training is spent on developing your
skills and your ability to demonstrate things. You will become a better diver
and you will be able to demonstrate and teach different parts of the courses.
We also do some swim tests during this part. In this part of the Divemaster
course we will help you reach theoretical knowledge at instructor level. This
will be done through a combination of presentations from your instructors and
reading of your work-book. Theoretical subjects include: Physics, Physiology,
Dive-charts, Equipment and Dive environment. The most interesting part
of the course is when you dive in company with certified divers and students taking
a course. You will learn to assist instructors while they teach their courses.
Here you will see that training with real students is the best way to learn.
You will also learn how to assist certified divers with planning and execution
of dives. As a whole, we believe these two weeks during your Divemaster course
will be the most fun you have ever had. |
